Vital Life Stories!

from Ruby Cockerham

Health Care Center Unit Manager

Thinking of our wellness program and one of the first things that come to mind is how much we benefit from our relationship with our pets. No matter how hard the day my 2 dogs are always happy to see me. Even when I am tired and perhaps not in the best of moods they make me smile. They meet me at the door with tales wagging and it is impossible not to feel better. A little music on the radio, the pups at my feet, a fire in the fireplace, and perhaps a loved one (spouse or grandchild) at my side all contribute to my emotional well being. With the upcoming holidays what could sound more relaxing than a few of these evenings instead of all the hustle and bustle? During my interactions with my co-workers I realize I need to take time to check on how things are with them—holidays are so stressful and we can all use a little support every now and then for our social and emotional well being—cant we? Also will try to remember to not partake of every goodie I see during the season (yeah right).
