Vital Life Stories!

from Debra Stewart

Director of Wellness

Since St. Leonard voted to become a Vital Life Community and was accepted by Vital Life to become a Beta community, we have triumphed as a community in the midst of change.

The easiest part of our journey toward certification has been building an affinity toward wellness that is focused on promoting fun and function, and reducing frailty and failure. Building a highly socialized community begins with nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of the entire collective community.

Transforming today’s hectic concept of the human race from “humans-doing” to “humans-being” we focus on the eight dimensions of wellness for optimal well being. Our goals are simple, to improve retention of our employees and residents, to reduce frailty and failure, and to reduce health care cost long term.
