Aches, Pains, and Flare-ups



Continuing your fitness training in an appropriate manner when you have aches and pains of the musculoskeletal system can be confusing. Depending on your condition, a physician may encourage you to exercise gently and continue to move about as safely as possible. Finding the right gentle exercise is important, but first, it will require a little investigation. If you have osteoarthritis or a related orthopedic issue it is essential that you monitor which activities or movement make the aches and pains of your condition worse. In addition, finding out what causes the joints to flare-up and become more painful than usual can help you select the right programming. Journaling to gather information about finding the correlation between exercises, movement, and your aches and pains is critical in order to continue your fitness program safety. The information that you gather through journaling may indicate when you should warm-up or cool-down longer, or take times of rest from physical activity. Your doctor will also welcome this information, and it will help your physician suggest alternative treatment and exercise during flare-ups.
