The Quest for Emotional Wellness No. 15: Setting Personal Goals

Many of our residents and staff participated in the 2012 5k event, which was recently held at St. Leonard, and as the runners and walkers finished the course their faces glowed with vitality and life. This event was a great example of self-determination and how extrinsically motivated individuals found strength in their ability to succeed. As researchers try to demystify why some people succeed more in life than others, they are finding that setting personal goals is what lights the fire to move past normal everyday barriers and obstacles.
