I have the privilege of serving with and on behalf of our employees. It seems that during the holidays so many wonderful "heart stories" come forward. One has to do with an employee for whom 2009 was a very difficult year due to being financially stressed because her husband was out of work for longer than they could handle. Many people reached out to them to assist them especially during the holidays. This year they find themselves in a much better place financially. Today she brought in the gift card she received from St. Leonard residents last week and asked that it be given to someone who is financially strapped. She and her husband talked about this and agreed that it was time for them to "pay it forward." There are many angels in our lives if we just open our eyes to the goodness around us. Not all angels have wings and are invisible. Most angels in our lives are "skin –on" people just like you and me. They are those who reach out to us in our time of need and sometimes we may not know who they are. Thank you for the times you have done that for someone else. |
