Team San Damiano: German American Club!

The area's oldest German-American club is the Dayton Liederkranz-Turner.  It was granted a charter as a singing club in 1890, and for over a hundred years has continued to keep alive the finest in traditional German customs and culture.  A few dancers from Liederkranz-Turner graciously volunteered to come for an afternoon of fun with the residents.  They named their attire and demonstrated a few dances and then invited some residents to join them in a traditional German dance.  Everyone had a wonderful time!~ Submitted by Sister Christine~

Team San Damiano: Chocolate Eating!

Residents are playing a German game called Schokoladenessen (chocolate eating) -- trying to cut the chocolate with mittens on  before they can eat a piece.  They roll a die to see who goes next. `Submitted by Sister Christine~

Team Franciscan Leadership Pilgrimage: Assisi!

Francis rebuilt this church and prophesied that San Damiano would become a monastery for women. St. Clare and the first community of the Poor Ladies began their spiritual journey in this church.
