Dayton Ballet's Cinderella. February brings the second full-length ballet of the season: Cinderella, featuring music by Russian master Prokofiev. Artistic Director Karen Russo Burke imbues the production with all the intrigue, love and humor you would expect from one of the world's most iconic love stories. Join us for this world premiere production of the original classic ballet.

It's Great in Dayton: The Awakening!

Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra presents The Awakening on 

Thursday, January 10 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, January 12, 8 :00 p.m. at The Schuster Center. The sound of the horn weaves a magical thread throughout these wide-ranging pieces. From the opening call in Weber's opera overture to the plaintive summons of the Shofar (ram's horn) in Meira Warshauer'sTekeeyah, to the soaring fanfare embodying great American archetypes, such as the returning soldier, in Aaron Copland's Symphony No. 3, something about the horn reaches deep into our collective soul. The three versatile composers on this program explore this great musical asset in the widest variety of multi-hued orchestral compositions.

Team Its Great in Dayton: Learn How to Identify Trees in the Fall and Winter

Can you tell the difference between a maple and an oak when the trees have no leaves? Believe it or not, it's not that difficult if you know where to look and know the many clues.

On Sunday, November 18, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm, you can join a park ranger to learn how to identify trees in the fall and winter. Meet at the  Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center  located on Wright Brothers Hill, 2380 Memorial Road (for GPS location, enter the intersection of Kauffman Avenue and Skyline Drive), Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, 45433 Free admission.

On Saturday September 29, Carillon Historical Park will open its doors free of charge along with over 1,400 other participating venues for the eighth annual Museum Day Live! This immensely successful program, in which Carillon Historical Park will emulate the free admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution's Washington, D.C.-based facilities, encourages learning and the spread of knowledge nationwide. Museum Day Live! fulfills Smithsonian Media's mission to make cultural education accessible to everyone. For one day only, Carillon Historical Park will grant free access to visitors who download a ticket from Museum Day Live!
